We got into our hotel very late last night, so we actually went to Isle Royale yesterday. This won't be a very long blog post because even though we were gone all day, we didn't get all that much time at Isle Royale. Lake Superior was extremely choppy, rough, and foggy yesterday and because of that we ended up getting to the island an hour later than we should have. We had only enough time to do the Stoll Trail to Scoville Point which is about 4.2 miles round-trip. It's a relatively flat hike, but very rocky. For those who are challenged at staying upright, like me, I highly recommend using hiking poles. Mine were secured in the car three hours away...oops. The trail provided great views of Lake Superior, but sadly no moose sightings. The way back on the ferry ride was a little more rough than the way out and pretty much all of the boat passengers became seasick...that was fun. Steve and I were okay, just a little nauseous and tired mostly. Enjoy some pictures of Isle Royale below.
